Theory of intelligent beings

The following is my theory on other intelligent beings, from Paul Savage (aged 6).

It goes like the following, when I was young, I thought that everyone around me was, like, robots, or non intelligent beings, that I was the centre of the univerese. And that everyone was on the planet for my benefit, pleasure or entertainment. I would think that things didn’t exist when I couldn’t see them. And that people were just randomly place here and there to please me. Its really quite funny, when I look back on this now. I just to try and sneak up surprise people, but they were always there, I tried to see if I was smarter than the system I lived in. But still it remained in place, keeping me occupied. I often wonder back and think if my family members thought I was just a strange kid or a weirdo. At least I didn’t try to reason with the other ‘robots’ in my surroundings and ask them why they were all so stupid.

i don’t know what to think about this, but I had the EXACT same line of thinking when I was a kid. That’s not to say that at any point I actually believed it was true, but the simple fact that I thought it and repeatedly considered the possibility for many years of my life must mean that at some level of my psyche, I must have thought that it at least could be true. I didn’t think of “the others” as robots or non-intelligent, but basically as other people who had nothing else in the world to do with their time, until I came back into the picture. Kind of like The Truman Show, where everybody except for Truman are actors. Except there, the actors had lives outside of the world Truman lived in. In my little fantasy world, all the “actors” had nothing to do when I wasn’t around, but they still existed and where focused on me.

…. maybe you’re just writing this blog post to send me a hidden message about the truth!! ;)
